Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest with Drug Charges

On 1-31-2025 at approximately 8:15 p.m., a Brown County Deputy initiated a traffic stop for speeding on US 75 HWY near MM 212. Upon interdiction with the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, Mohamad Abadi 24, Syracuse, NY, an odor of burnt marijuana was detected. Upon completion of the interdiction, Abadi was arrested on charges of Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Cocaine W/O tax stamp, Distribution of Marijuana, and Obstruction. Due to an altercation which took place at the Brown County Jail, Abadi was additionally charged with Battery of a Law Enforcement Officer X 2.
